If You Could Have Anything To Eat Right Now, What Would It Be?

It might have looked like this.

Dear readers, my blog is a bit of a copout today, but I really need to spend time updating my website and working on my novel.

YES, I have a life outside of blogging!

Anyway, the lovely WordPress people sent me this prompt today and since my reaction was immediate and strong, I decided to answer it!  There are a couple of parts to this question, and here they are.

  1. Assume price is no object.
  2. If you could eat this food with anyone alive or who has ever lived, who would it be?
  3. Find and share a photo of what you’d like to eat or the person from #2.

Here goes…

Have you ever tasted something and in that one indescribable, delicious moment, realized you were experiencing the best food you had ever, or possibly would ever taste in your life? I have… Unfortunately, I was so wrapped up in eating this amazing manna from heaven I forgot to ask what the dish was called. Here’s what I do know:

  • The dish was Nepalese
  • The restaurant was in Madison, WI on State Street.

So, assuming price is no object and I could hop a Learjet and be there in five, it should be easy to find out what I was eating, right? Wrong!

There are 3 Tibetan restaurants on State Street in Madison! Since when did all the Nepalese move to Madison WI?

Ah well, on to #2.

Who would I share this amazing food with, given that I have only a vague idea of what it is or where to get it? Even though this question allows me the freedom to pick anyone, I would pick my spouse. It’s not what you’re thinking. My choice has nothing to do with being faithful, or love, blah, blah, blah… It’s because he loves to eat. Think about it, what if I picked Brad Pitt and he turned out to be a picky eater. That would be bummer.

Finally, #3: A picture of the perfect dish? That’s easy.

Could This Be The Perfect Dish?
